The Star Cardiac Care Platinum plan is a specialized health insurance policy designed for individuals with heart ailments, offering coverage up to ₹15 lakhs. It covers modern treatments, heart transplants, coronary angiograms, and heart devices, with no pre-policy medical tests required. It features optional lump sum coverage for recurrence or metastasis of cancer and offers flexible premium payment options. It also offers a no-claim bonus. Every year, you go without making a claim, your sum insured grows by 10% up to a maximum of 100% of the sum insured.

Your insurance cover won’t be fully available in case you are treated for Cardio vascular conditions, Cataracts, Modern Treatments and a few other diseases. Meaning the insurance company has a cap on the total amount they’ll pay out if you are treated for these specific illnesses.

Reasonable waiting period for pre-existing diseases
If you are already dealing with cardiac ailments, then the insurer will cover you from day 31. However, if you are dealing with other pre-existing diseases including thyroid, diabetes, etc, then you’ll have to wait 3 years before they start covering these complications.

Special Bonus for being healthy and not claiming insurance
Your sum insured increases by 10% each year, so long as you make no claims during this period. But before you get too ahead of yourself, do note that they’ll stop offering you the bonus when your sum insured increases by 100%. Also, the bonus amount will reduce at same rate each time you make a claim. But hey, it's still a bonus.
